Korean Language Programme
- The Korean Language Programme consists of 3 proficiency levels – Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
- In order to become well-versed and proficient in Korean Language an applicant should do all the proficiency levels in progression
- However, an applicant other than a beginner with no knowledge of Korean Language or minimal knowledge of Korean Language can choose to directly join the Intermediate or the Advanced proficiency levels, in which case the applicant has a take an proficiency test so as to be able to determine which course the applicant is more suited for.
Eligibility Requirements:
The applicant must be at least a 10+2 passout or equivalent.
Course Description:
The pedagogy for the programme would be through classroom lectures, role-plays, culture experience modules and project work. Extensive use of audio-visual materials is also made along with the regular high-quality textbooks developed for the special purpose of language education.

- Familiarization with the fundamental system of pronunciation and sentence structure and function
- Functions needed in everyday life, such as introductions, shopping, telephoning, etc.

INTERMEDIATE

- Students would be able to express individual experiences and opinions or other specific contents correctly and fluently
- Students would be able to communicate without any difficulty in daily life

- Passive and causative verbs, speech, various supplements, endings inflection, etc.
- Introduction to Korean society

ADVANCED
|
- Students would be able to deal with abstract and current issues, and conceptualize and write things on their own
|
- Abstract social subjects such as politics, economics, society, culture, etc.
- Texts of various subjects and speech patterns that widen the understanding of Korea.

Classes for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Programmes are conducted two times a year:
- January to June and
- August to December
Applicants can choose to opt for either a weekday or a weekend programme.
- Weekday classes are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for two hours a day (from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.) and
- Weekend classes are held on Saturday, Sunday for three hours a day (from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.).
