NEN

The National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN), founded in 2002, is a not-for-profit initiative of the Wadhwani Foundation, working to inspire, educate and support the next generation of high-growth entrepreneurs in India.
NEN was co-founded by five of India's premier academic institutions: IIT Bombay; IIM Ahmedabad; SP Jain Institute, Bombay; IBAB, Bangalore and BITS Pilani. Over the past three years, NEN's focus on introducing a new paradigm in entrepreneurship education in India -- and its innovative method of doing so - has made it its leading catalyst on campuses across India.

NEN's ultimate goal is to help launch thousands of new entrepreneurs, who in turn will create hundreds of thousands of much-needed valuable jobs for India.

NEN works with academic institutions to help build and ramp-up entrepreneurship programs and create a constant flow of high-impact, world-class activities designed to facilitate success in the real world.
NEN is currently working with over 280 top institutes encompassing a 300,000+ strong student base and over 500+ faculty members leading entrepreneurship programs at the institutes.

SERVICES

NEN Consulting

NEN Consultants, based out in the field, provide NEN member institutes with expert help and advice on building entrepreneurship programs. This is a critical resource, particularly for institutes just starting entrepreneurship programs, or those wishing to rapidly ramp up existing programs.

The NEN Resource Bureau comprises a pool of industry people, recruited by NEN, who have volunteered to participate in NEN member institute programs. Program organizers can draw on these experts, and enlist the help of the NEN Resource Bureau Team in making the right match for their program needs.

Education

NEN - Stanford Technology Ventures Program: Entrepreneurship Educators Course

NEN, in partnership with Stanford University's Technology Ventures Program, has developed Asia's first certificate course for entrepreneurship educators. The course is designed and taught by Stanford faculty in collaboration with leading international and Indian entrepreneurship faculty. Participants access the latest thinking, content and pedagogy in entrepreneurship education.

The NEN Faculty Fellowship Program enables donors to support entrepreneurship faculty development. Donors give directly to institutes to cover the costs of travel and lodging for faculty participating in the NEN - Stanford Course, and to fund some entrepreneurship programs.

NEN Press: Educational Content and Tools

NEN is building relevant entrepreneurship teaching content for India and other emerging markets. NEN Press actively sources high quality entrepreneurship teaching content. NEN Press reviews, edits and packages the material for entrepreneurship program organizers and for new entrepreneurs.

NEN E-Cell Workshops

NEN E-Cell Workshops, held regularly for the new batches of E-cell co-ordinators and their Faculty Advisors, help connect students from different institutes, introduce them to the various ways of organizing E-cells and the options for E-cell events, and help them understand and access NEN resources.

NEN Catalyst Programs

Direct support for budding entrepreneurs includes on-ground and online support. Catalyst Programs provide practical and real world information; access to experts, skill building activities and networking on a range of topics that play out in a new venture life cycle. The programs will help new and future entrepreneurs to understand the key issues involved and the implications for them.

Through NEN Online, you can access real-world help, in real time: expert advice; practical information on venture creation; teaching materials; events calendar; discussions and people from the entrepreneurial community.

Every month NEN will cover a new venture lifecycle issue. Leading experts on each topic including venture capital, angel investing, intellectual property, opportunity evaluation, business planning etc. will interact with students on campus through talks, Q&As and one-on-one sessions.
